I was wondering the other day what the iPad means on a bigger scale, not for Apple or consumers wanting to have the latest, but what it means as an evolutionary step in mobile computing and computing in general.

It’s not that we haven’t seen touch enabled devices till now, but surely we haven’t seen one that is so easy to use and intuitive. You mush have seen the videos on Youtubw where young kids take the iPad and immediately know how to use it. We must give credit to Steve Jobs for that, as he is the master genius behind the iPad concept and interface.

If at the dawn of computing all devices and interfaces (if we can call them that) lack anything that you could call natural and intuitive, now that things are getting on the right track here, people are no longer scared of computers, smartphones and such. Now you don’t have to be a genius or geek to know how to browse the internet, write on a blog, forward an email or watch a video online

That’s because computing has evolved and the iPad is a true statement to this. Now computing has become even more ‘natural and instinctive’ being suited for a larger mass of consumers.

Many professionals don’t like the iPad and it is easy to understand why: it’s not your traditional computer but is meant to cover 90% of the activities people do online. Of course Apple offers a range of accessories for iPad and best iPad cases that people might buy to make the iPad more computer like but that’s not the point at all, get it? The sooner you understand this the faster you’ll be acquainted with the iPad and touch interface concept for this matter. You have nothing to lose by doing so. This is the future!
