Going Greener With Our Wormery

Posted by Shannon on June 9, 2008. Filed under About Us, Green Issues.

We have 1,800 new hard working ?What If!ers! Our newly acquired wormery has got a new home on the patio at the Glassworks. It will take a month or so for the worms to settle down, so we’ve asked everyone to leave them alone for a bit. Soon we’ll be able to feed them.

They love to eat cooked food scraps, tea bags, coffee grounds, vegetable peelings, egg shells (this helps the worm digest - as fibre does us) …  Oh, you can also put horse manure in there, just in case someone rides in!

We have 1,800 of the wiggly wigglers – so any suggestions of names gratefully received. One more little step on the green path for us!
